1. Preamble
Welcome to Synka. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Synka mobile application ("the Service", "the App").
By creating an account and using Synka, you accept these Terms without reservation. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Synka is a mobile app for ultra-personalized running coaching. Training plans adapt to your physiological profile (age, heart rate, performance) and, for users who choose to, to their menstrual cycle. The Service offers:
- An evolving personalized training plan
- Tracking of your sessions and training load
- Performance analysis (VO2max, TSS, heart rate zones)
- An AI-powered virtual coach
- Optional menstrual cycle tracking for enhanced personalization
- Optional integration with Strava and Garmin
Synka is currently in beta. The Service is under active development and may contain malfunctions. Some features may change or be temporarily unavailable.

Synka is a project in the process of being incorporated as a company. These Terms will be updated upon the company's official formation.

4. Access conditions
4.1 Minimum age
Synka is intended for adults (18 and over), women and men. Users between 15 and 18 may use the Service with the consent of a legal guardian.
4.2 Account creation
To use Synka, you must:
- Have a valid email address
- Provide accurate information at registration
- Keep your password confidential
- Notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
You are solely responsible for the activity carried out from your account.
4.3 Technical compatibility
Synka is available on iOS and Android. Compatibility with your device and operating system version is not guaranteed on all models.
5. Free access and pricing changes
5.1 Beta phase: free
During the beta phase, Synka is offered free of charge. No payment is required.
5.2 Future developments
After the beta phase, some features may become paid (freemium model or subscription). Beta users will be informed at least 30 days before any pricing change and will benefit from preferential terms.
6. Your commitments
By using Synka, you agree to:
6.1 Personal use
- Use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only
- Not create multiple accounts
- Not share your account with a third party
6.2 Accurate data
- Provide truthful information (age, HRmax, etc.)
- Update your data when it changes
- Understand that inaccurate information may distort recommendations
6.3 Fair use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to circumvent the Service's security measures
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service
- Bulk-extract data from the Service
- Distribute viruses, malware, or malicious content
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others
6.4 Respect for intellectual property
The Service, its content (text, graphics, logos, algorithms), its brand, and its domain name are the exclusive property of Synka. Any unauthorized reproduction, modification, or use is prohibited.
7. Medical advice and limitation of liability
7.1 Synka is not a medical device
Synka is a sports coaching tool and is not a medical device within the meaning of European Regulation MDR 2017/745. Synka does not provide medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment.
7.2 Medical consultation recommended
Before starting a training program:
- Consult your doctor, especially if you have health problems, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or returning to sport after a long break
- Seek gynecological advice if you have questions related to your menstrual cycle
- Stop immediately any activity in case of pain, discomfort, or unusual symptoms
7.3 Limitations of the virtual coach
The virtual coach is generated by artificial intelligence. Its responses may contain errors, approximations, or recommendations unsuited to your personal situation. The virtual coach in no way replaces a healthcare professional or a qualified human coach.
7.4 Limitations of data collected via third parties
Data imported via Strava or Garmin depends on the accuracy of those third-party services and the quality of your sensors (heart rate monitor, GPS). Synka does not guarantee the accuracy of imported data.
7.5 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Synka is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or bug-free
- We cannot be held liable for indirect damages (data loss, injury, underperformance)
- In the event of a dispute, our total liability will be limited to the amount paid by you over the last 12 months (or to zero during the free beta phase)
8. Personal data
The processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
Key points:
- Your data is hosted on Supabase (European Union)
- The virtual coach uses Anthropic's Claude (framed transfer outside the EU)
- Menstrual cycle tracking is optional
- You can delete your account at any time
- Upon deletion, your identifying data is deleted immediately, and training data is anonymized and retained for up to 3 years for research
9. Connected third-party services
If you connect Strava, Garmin, or any other third-party service to Synka:
- You accept the terms of those third-party services
- Synka is not responsible for changes to or interruptions of those services
- You can revoke access at any time from Synka's settings or directly with the third-party service
10. Intellectual property
10.1 Your data
You remain the owner of the data you enter into Synka (sessions, notes, etc.).
10.2 License to use
By using Synka, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable license to use your data solely to:
- Provide the Service (calculations, recommendations, coaching)
- Improve the Service (on anonymized data only)
This license ends when you delete your account (except for anonymized data, which remains usable as set out in the Privacy Policy).
10.3 Synka's property
The "Synka" brand, the logo, the app, its algorithms, its source code, its visual identity, and all components remain the exclusive property of Synka. No transfer of intellectual property rights is granted hereunder.
11. Suspension and termination
11.1 Termination by you
You can delete your account at any time from the App settings. Deletion takes effect immediately.
11.2 Termination by Synka
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service in the event of:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or abusive activity
- Non-compliance with applicable laws
In the event of termination for violation, you will be notified by email. You will be able to export your data for 30 days.
11.3 Service changes
Synka reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. In the event of permanent discontinuation, you will be notified at least 30 days in advance and will be able to export your data.
12. Changes to the Terms
Synka may modify these Terms. In the event of a material change, you will be notified by email and in the App at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can delete your account.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt at amicable resolution, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
In accordance with regulations, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge in the event of a dispute (see www.economie.gouv.fr/mediation-conso).
14. Miscellaneous
14.1 Partial invalidity
If any clause of these Terms is found void or unenforceable, the remaining clauses remain in effect.
14.2 No waiver
Synka's failure to enforce any clause of the Terms does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce it later.
14.3 Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Synka.
